The students at Ekashila College of Teacher Education experience an impressive and unforgettable academic life.  Situated in 12 acres of noise free Environment having spacious classrooms, laboratories and play grounds, the students have a close interaction with the facility members which helps them for all round development.  The students will be made into small groups with an in charge mentor to carry out different programs in the college both curricular and co-curricular.  Being a professional course the teacher preparatory course have three major components  (a) theoretical orientation (b) School experience and (c) practical work, sound exposure to all these aspects are enjoyed by the students at Ekashila campus. 

 The M.Ed students as a part of their curriculum will be  imparted basic knowledge in research methodology, Teacher Education, Curriculum Development, Eductional Technology, Environmental Education and in depth knowledge in Philosophical, Sociological and Psychological foundations of Education. The students participate in seminar presentations and are given first hand experience in evaluating the B.Ed trainees teaching practice program by visiting the schools during the field based experience programme.  The students also go for research in various topics to submit their dissertations which is an integral part of their course.

 The theoretical orientation for B.Ed and T.P.T. students include core subjects such as philosophical, sociological and psychological foundations of Education.  These subjects aim at helping the student teacher in formulating their own authentic responses to reality, to situate Education to the social context, to develop a better understanding of the needs,  interests and abilities of the learners and to create effective learning situations.  Subject like systems of Education, school administration, Educational Technology, computer Education along with content cum methodology courses in different school subjects make an inseparable part of the theoretical orientation and pedagalogical thirst in teacher Education.  The other component - school experience or exposure to the life at school includes, classroom teaching for practice for specified period and participation in academic and socio-cultural life at school.  Adequate preparatory exercise in the form of demonstration lessons. Discussion of lessons  & lesson plans, micro - teaching and experiments in science subjects are conducted in the college.  The third component is the practical work which include projects like community work, cultural studies, personality development, communicative English, SUPW, school study etc. make students gain practical experience in various aspects.

The students participate in different literary, sports and games competitions conducted at college, inter college and university level.  In addition to all these to widen the mental horizon and to deepen the intellectual abilities of the pupil teachers, various extension lectures were organized in the academic and other allied fields of teacher education.
